Website Design for Tradesmen in Ireland
A website for a tradesman has one job: turn someone who found you on their phone into a call, a WhatsApp photo or a quote request. Everything else on the page is there to support that.
Built for electricians, plumbers, builders, roofers, landscapers and every other trade and mobile service business working across Ireland — by someone who builds websites, not by a template you have to fill in yourself.
All prices exclude VAT and are confirmed in writing before work begins — full detail on the pricing page.
What a Trade Website Has to Get Right
Trade customers behave differently to most website visitors. They are often mid-problem, on a phone, and contacting two or three people at once. These are the things that decide whether you are one of them.
Built for a phone in one hand
Nearly every trade enquiry starts on a mobile, often outdoors on patchy signal. Big tap targets, short lines, fast loading and no pinching or zooming to find your number.
Your number, tappable, at the top
One tap to ring, one tap to WhatsApp, and both visible before any scrolling. If someone has to hunt for how to contact you, they contact somebody else.
WhatsApp for photo quotes
A customer sends a picture of the job and you reply when you are off the ladder. It removes the awkward phone call and it is how a lot of Irish customers now prefer to start.
Your actual services, in plain words
Written the way customers describe the job, not the way the trade describes it. That is also exactly what people type into Google.
Where you work, stated clearly
Base, counties, main towns and how far you travel. It answers the first question every caller has and gives local search something honest to work with.
Job photos that do the selling
Before-and-after shots of real work beat any amount of description. A simple gallery you can add to over time is one of the strongest assets a trade site has.
Reasons to trust you
Insurance, registrations or certifications you actually hold, years on the tools, guarantees you genuinely offer, and a real name and location. Only ever what is true.
Enquiries that reach you immediately
Every form submission is emailed straight to you the moment it is sent, with the page it came from. In trades, the first person to reply usually gets the job.
The Six Questions Every Customer Has
A trade website works when it answers, in order, the questions running through the customer's head. Leave one unanswered and they keep scrolling — usually onto somebody else's site.
1Do you cover my area?
Answered by a clear service-area section, not left for a phone call.
2Do you do this particular job?
Answered by naming the jobs you take on — and, where it helps, the ones you do not.
3Have you done work like mine before?
Answered by a photo gallery of finished jobs of that type.
4Are you insured and can I trust you?
Answered by stating the real credentials you hold and being a named, contactable person.
5Roughly what will it cost and when could you start?
Answered by whatever honest guidance you can give — call-out approach, quote process, typical lead times.
6How do I get a price?
Answered by one obvious next step: ring, WhatsApp a photo, or fill in a short quote form.
Local Visibility, Without the Nonsense
For most trades, the majority of new enquiries come from local searches and from Google Business Profile — the map listing with your name, opening hours and reviews. The website's job is to back that listing up with matching, believable detail.
- Google Business Profile set up or tidied up, with categories and services that match your work
- Consistent business name, address details and phone number between the profile and the site
- Service and area content written for what people actually search
- Correct page titles, descriptions and heading structure on every page
- Fast mobile loading, which matters as much for search as it does for the visitor
- A sensible habit for asking satisfied customers for reviews
If local visibility is the main thing you want to work on, the local SEO service page goes through it in detail. No ranking positions are ever guaranteed. Running an office-based or advice-led firm instead? See websites for professional services.
What Happens When an Enquiry Comes In
Getting the enquiry is half the job. Being the first to answer it is the other half, and that is a matter of how the site is wired up.
- Enquiries emailed to you instantly, not held in a dashboard you have to log into
- Each enquiry records the page it came from so you can see what is working
- A quote form that asks the questions you would have to ask anyway — job type, location, timeframe
- Anti-spam protection so real enquiries are not buried
- WhatsApp as a first-class option alongside phone and email
Enquiry tracking and monthly reporting are included from the Business Growth Care plan upwards.

Questions Tradespeople Ask
I get all my work from word of mouth. Do I need a website at all?
Word of mouth still sends people to Google. When somebody is given your name, the first thing they do is search it — and what they find decides whether they ring you or ring the next name on the list. A website does not replace referrals; it stops you losing them at the last step.
I am on the tools all day. How much of my time will this take?
Realistically an hour or so on the phone or WhatsApp at the start, then sending whatever job photos you already have on your phone. The pages are drafted for you and you approve or correct them. Nothing needs to be typed up in the evenings.
Do I need a page for every town I cover?
Usually not, and thin pages with a town name swapped in do more harm than good. What works is stating your base, the counties and towns you genuinely travel to, and how far you go. Separate local pages only earn their place when there is real, different content behind them.
Will people actually use WhatsApp instead of ringing?
Many do, particularly for quotes. A customer can send a photo of the leak, the wall or the wiring in ten seconds without having to explain it on the phone, and you can reply between jobs. Phone, WhatsApp, email and a form are all offered so people use whatever suits them.
My photos are just phone snaps. Is that a problem?
No — for trades they usually work better than staged photography. Real before-and-after shots of finished jobs are the most convincing thing on a tradesman's website. A simple habit of taking a photo before you start and one when you finish builds a genuinely useful gallery.
Can you get me to the top of Google?
Nobody can promise a position, and any promise like that should worry you. What can be done is give you solid foundations — correct page structure, clear service and area content, fast mobile loading, and help getting your Google Business Profile set up properly, which is often what matters most for local trade searches.
Are you a trade business yourselves?
No. We design and build websites — we do not carry out trade work of any kind. We work with tradespeople and local service businesses across Ireland to get them found and contacted.
What does it cost?
Setup starts at €499 + VAT for a focused one-page site, with larger packages for multi-service trades, plus a monthly care plan from €29 + VAT for hosting, updates and support. Every figure is listed on the pricing page and confirmed in writing before any work starts.
